Biography of Dr. Alan Wright |

Alan Wright has been a Professor of Management in Henderson State University’s School of Business since 1990. He received his BGS and MBA from Arkansas State University and his DBA (doctorate of business administration) from Memphis State University. He currently teaches Management and Organizational Behavior, International Business, and Organizational Leadership. Past courses taught include graduate-level Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Management Communications, and Henderson Seminar. He is also holds the Sam Walton Free Enterprise Fellowship for his sponsorship of Students in Free Enterprise.
Wright has presented papers and cases at several conferences over his career and continues his research on organizational strategy and leader-subordinate interaction.
Alan is active on the Henderson campus, serving in the Faculty Senate and on numerous committees. His latest activity will be holding the chains at the Reddie football games.
Alan is very active in the community and has held or currently holds leadership positions in his church, Rotary Club, and city government. His newest adventure is serving as president of the Arkadelphia High School Athletic Booster Club. He has been a Little League, youth soccer and youth football coach.
Wright has been active in two university planning retreats and several School of Business planning activities. He has also led three church planning sessions and a Rotary Club planning session.
Alan is married to Doris (who is a vice president at HSU) and is the proud father of two teenage sons. He attends a lot of ballgames, 33 football games are scheduled for this fall.
