I was born in Waterloo, Iowa July 4, 1947. Raised on the farm just outside Parkersburg, Ia graduating from Parkersburg High School. Married to Linda Schuck and serving in the US Army during the Vietnam era in Karlsrue, Germany. Son Scott born in Heidelberg and after discharge came back to Iowa working for an insurance company as a claims adjuster then into an insurance agency with my father, which we expanded to include real estate. Ryan, 2nd son, came along and after several years in Grundy Center, signed on with Edward Jones Investments which brought us to Arkansas.
Family includes 2 sons and wives, 4 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren ages 3 & 1, mother and step father, 2 sisters and brother and families.
My Rotary service began in Grundy Center, Iowa, District 5970, in 1973. From that time I served as committee chair on each avenue of service, secretary, treasurer, vice president and then President 1981-1982, District committee for international/GSE 1982-1983. We moved here to Arkansas in 1988 but not back into Rotary here until 1990. I have served several different committees and such in the Club here, until being President in 2004-2005. In 2006 appointed Assistant Governor to Ian Cosh, then Susan Aldridge and now Jim Davis. Linda and I have hosted several Rotary Exchange Students & GSE Teams both here and in Iowa.
Hobbies are restoring old cars and vehicles, riding my Harley and tennis. |
