District Simplified Grants Policies and Procedures 2008-2009
District 6170
This year the District has $ 11,368..00 available to fund projects. All applicants for District Simplified grants should take the following timelines and guidelines into account when applying for District Simplified Grants.
1. Deadline: September 1, 2008.
2. $4,000 maximum award; no minimum
3. Must respect Rotary International (RI) Guidelines as described at http://www.rotary.org/foundation/grants/district_simplified/index.html
Please note there are several types of projects which are disallowed by RI including the purchase of a a building or land, development of a foundation, salaries of individuals, and operating/administrative expenses of an organization. These are just a few examples and are not the complete list. Please refer to the above link where you can find the guidelines established by RI.

5. Rotary International established the District Simplified Grant program with the intention that districts will receive, distribute, spend and report on the use of grant funds within one Rotary Year. Final report is due by May 15, 2009 to Steve Nipper.
Please note: The District Simplified Grants selection committee will review all applications by September 30, 2008. Priority will be given to those projects that include matching funds and strong Rotarian involvement.
