George Keck is a life-long resident of Arkansas who grew up in Rogers and attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He is the chair of the Division of Music and the Addie Mae Maddox Professor of Music at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. He holds a Ph.D. degree in music history and literature from The University of Iowa and is married to Ouida Keck. George is very interested in foreign cultures and has lived in Paris three summers and traveled to China ten times as organizer of an annual joint Ouachita-Peking University faculty seminar.
George has been a member of the Arkadelphia Rotary Club since 1988. He has served as music director for the club, as program chair, and as chair of the International Committee. He is president elect and will serve as president during 2008-09.
George was the team leader for the District 6170 Group Study Exchange with District 2760 in Nagoya, Japan in November 2006. He has been a member of District 6170 GSE Committee since 2007 and served in 2007-08 as vice chair. |
